Hiking back up Bluff Cove, I pretended to notice Muriel and Malik taking selfies near the cliffside. "Want me to take a picture for you two?", I asked. After some small talk and photo taking, the plan began to unfold. Malik had his girlfriend look out to the ocean, not knowing she was about to become a fiancée. She turned around as Malik took her hands and declared his love for her and how he yearned for her to be his wife. It was finally apparent as he got down on one knee. Tears flowed as Malik poured his heart out. He put the pear cut diamond on her finger and their forever was underway.
I walked with them to the beach where their friends set up a picnic. "It doesn't feel real! I feel like I'm in a dream!", Muriel expressed passionately, still in disbelief. We walked along the shore and got our feet wet, feeling the warm summer breeze. They held each other close as I wished them well and off they went. It was truly a perfect day.
