If you are familiar with my Neighborhood Series on TikTok, then you know it is my way of creating space for community through discounted session days. This shoot is one of those special sessions.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with a Southern California event styling company known for their beautiful draped backdrops. In collaboration with the brand, I also photographed two recently engaged couples for 30 min sessions. This session gave me the opportunity to exercise a different creative muscle. Most of my work takes place in wide open spaces where I can lean into natural movement and candid interaction. Working in a studio-type setting called for more intentional creative direction and guided posing. It was such a rewarding reminder of how much I enjoy the collaborative process of shaping a scene and helping couples feel confident in front of the camera.
It was great practice, and I left the day feeling even more prepared for couples who envision their session in a studio or another smaller, intimate setting. Every experience like this helps me grow, and I am grateful for the chance to continue expanding the way I tell each couple's story.
